Hero for Hire (Hourly)

Gary Preston found a superhero suit in the trash. It’s the most reliable thing in his life.

Cover: Gary, in a worn superhero suit with an E on the chest, stands on a crate in front of an elevated highway; a pigeon at his feet.

Gary Preston is in his fifties and has never had a steady job. Since he found the suit, he has worked birthday parties, held signs in the wind and charged tourists for photos in Times Square. The steadiest thing he has found is a job as the mascot of a website. He still doesn’t know what an EPUB is.

An absurd, quiet comic about work, dignity and a pigeon. And about a secondhand suit that might be more than it looks.
