How to convert MOBI to EPUB
- Choose your MOBI or AZW3 file, or drag it onto the box above.
- Wait a few seconds while the book is converted on your device.
- Your EPUB downloads automatically, with the same file name.
What is kept
- The text, split into the book's original chapters.
- Images, styles and embedded fonts.
- The table of contents and the links inside the book.
- The cover, title, author, language, publisher and description.
Your book stays on your device
The converter runs entirely in your browser. Your ebook is read and rebuilt as an EPUB on your own computer or phone, and nothing is uploaded to a server.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with AZW3 files?
Yes. AZW3 (also called KF8) and the older MOBI format are both supported, including files that contain both versions.
Can I convert books I bought on Amazon?
Not if they are DRM-protected, which most Kindle Store purchases are. This tool only converts DRM-free files, such as books you made yourself, public-domain books or files sold without DRM.
What about KFX files?
KFX, Amazon's newest format, is not supported. If you have the same book as MOBI or AZW3, use that file instead.
Why convert MOBI to EPUB?
EPUB is the standard ebook format. Kobo, Apple Books, Google Play Books, PocketBook and most reading apps open EPUB, while MOBI is mostly limited to older Kindles. Amazon's Send to Kindle also accepts EPUB: see how to put EPUB books on a Kindle.
